Rollaboard with the maximum permitted dimensions easily fit in side-ways in Y (bins on both sides are the same size).Originally Posted by ffbubba

In J the bins on the left hand side is tiny (big enough for coat, purse etc., but not much more), but the bin on the right hand side is bigger than the Y bins (roughly the same size as on the A320)
The bin above 1A is quite small as it's also used for pillows etc. There's a smaller overhead at the very front that holds some emergency equipment too so obviously that part is not for pax use.
The bins above 2A & 3A are OK but as noted, those on the starboard side are a bit bigger.

In our house we call the E190 our "Baby Plane". Since Aug 29 Mrs T and I have used them twice. We always travel with rollaways and outbound I packed my bag and "had" to use the extender on my case. On board, it just didn't fit and I had to check it. This was handled efficiently by our cc member. Inbound, Mrs T packed my bag and the extender was not necessary Originally Posted by ffbubba

and it fit perfectly! Go figure. We were in Economy. (In hindsight, when I checked it, I should have asked the crew to treat it as as a stroller and have it returned to the aircraft door upon arrival.)

I actually find the E-Jet overhead only slightly larger than the CR9, but definitely bigger than a CR7. Originally Posted by PhotoJim

To YYCOllie, while I'm not 100% certain my gut tells me that a widebody is big in all the wrong ways for the E-Jets. Rollaboards have to go sideways so it could be an issue.

My wife insists on carrying a regulation-size-yet-expandable carry-on and with a bit of conviction I have no problem fitting it into E90s -- sideways of course.Originally Posted by Solomon2

My regulation Rimowa fits great, with some extra space to spare (implying that US-size carryons would fit to).

I will take your "Baby Plane" any day over the "Barbie Jet" 50 seat Regional Jet. IMO,worst a/c in the AC/AC Express fleet.Originally Posted by TheOnlyWayTo Fly

I figure they keep the CRJ in the fleet just to remind us how nice the other a/c are in comparison. Just like UA J is to remind us how nice AC J is.Originally Posted by acysb87
