eUpgrade usage advice

Hi all,

Almost all of my travel is international (YYZ->LHR mostly) So those are no brainers when it comes to requesting upgrades. However I am now at a point where I will be at 20 eUpgrades sitting around (10 regular and 10 flight pass ones).

I ended up not purchasing a flight pass, so I assume those are just useless to me, correct?

That leaves 10... I have one small trip YYZ->ATL in S in August... it is on a CRA, is that worth using these on?

Thought I would get an opinion.

Thanks,

I think you would only need half the usual credits due to the summer eupgrade promotion, so you should still have some left over after that trip.

I don't find J on the CRA to be particularly nice as compared to the E190 or Airbus fleet. Plus, Y on the CRA isn't all that bad, and if you can score row 12 you get a ton of legroom.

However, if the credits would just go to waste, then why not? I've got a roundtrip on the CRA coming up and plan to use my credits if there is space available. I'm not likely to be doing any long hauls this year (unusually for me as I normally do 2-3 TATL per year) so have no need of the credits there, and most of my US travel is on UA, so I don't have a problem with "wasting" credits on a CRA.

Hi there. I'm a bit confused by this. There aren't different e-upgrade credits for "regular" and "flight pass". There is just one kind of e-upgrade credit. You can earn them by purchasing a flight pass, but you can use them on any flights eligible for upgrades.

Therefore, if you have 20 credits, they can be used as you wish.

When I selected my Elite Options one was "10 eUpgrades for Flight Pass activities"

On my account I have 2 types:
Some labelled "10 Air Canada Top-Tier 2011 "
and some "10 Flight pass and promotions 2011"

I assumed the ones marked with Flight pass and promotions are for Flight pass trips only... is that wrong?

Use them or lose them. I have no problems "wasting" e-certs on Rapidair routes,ORD flights or CRA flights to YQT.All this and still plenty of e-cert credits on hand
