I got it in today's mail. In the 70K section, it saids "Plus, you can transfer your ticket, so why not give it to someone else?". From that, it sounds like we could give it away to someone else if we can't use it. I passed 70k a while ago and still haven't gotten anything from them about it.

If their rationale for changing the 70K gift from being a 2-for-1 coupon to a free Y-class NAmerican ticket, I would suspect it was to answer complaints that many people don't have the opportunity to travel with a partner on a complete itinerary. This makes it much more flexible, as the partner can come along on either the outbound or inbound trip, then choose their own date for independent travel to or back while we stay on for business, etc. Or it can be used by the member, or given to a relative, friend or colleague. [Wonder why they didn't leave the option of just taking another 30K bonus at this tier?]
And remember also that those earning this many miles will have done so on business, and thus must use the award in a business-related fashion or pay tax on it to RevCanada. It is harder to explain the accompanying partner coupon as a legitimate business expense, and of course most people would not be claiming it as a personal benefit and voluntarily pay taxes on it. I think this type of coupon is more appropriate for AC to issue on a number of levels.
You note at the 100K level, one gets an additional 30K. Is this in addition to the 10K threshold bonus as received at each 10K of Q-miles over the 50K level? i.e. does one get a 40K bonus upon reaching 100K. And if this is the case, then it is really equivilent to another NAmerican ticket, this time in Executive Class!
At what level do they start giving away mothballed DC9s?

Empress, I just got off the phone with aeroplan about a number of things, and asked them about the 70Q reward seat in N.A., they told me mine was mailed out April 29, the same day it was processed and were surprised I had not received it. They contract this out and are putting a trace on it, so you might want to see if a similar situation applies in your case.

In the Elite guide it states: "When you reach the 50,000 Qualifying miles level, you will receive a seperate communication describing in detail an exclusive array of gifts from which you may choose your own special bonus".
What are the gifts? Who has received anything relating to this?

300 k can be reached with 17 YYZ-HKG roundtrips, at $1200 each trip at Chinese TA... it comes to about $20,000
One year Volvo lease is valued at maybe $400 x 12 = $4800
So $4800 bonus for $20,000 spending... 24%, not bad.
Also, at 2 cents a mile... 300k is worth $6000.
So a grand total of $10,800 for $20,000 spending... hmm, now it's >50%
Can AC be this generous? Is my math wrong somewhere?

More Miles
Dont forget that you get 10K as bonus for every 10K Q Miles. This means that when you reach 300K you will have a bonus of 250K as well. Plus you will have another 30K+35K if you choose miles on those leves. At 70K you get a free ticket in NA which also should be worh atleast something
Total of 615K miles without any double miles offeres etc.
At 200K you could choose the Marriott award and when you reach 250K the Air Canada Grand Prix prize is there waiting for you.
Using a Bath Run or something similar and you can reach 300K for a lower price.
