Now this is an incentive to keep E or SE status...:rolleyes:

Aeroplan continues to deteriorate. I wonder where it will end.

Aeroplan ends 500 mile minimums
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...73615620110511
"Via the MilesLink newsletter, Air Canada’s Aeroplan is ending 500 mile minimums for mileage earning on short flights, going to a 250 mile minimum, effective August 1." Yuck. |
Wow, real nickel and diming. Way to continue to sour customer relations, AC and Aeroplan ^
eUpgrades fiasco, 30% higher miles required for useful Aeroplan redemptions, and decreased earnings potential - four months into this year. Wonder what enhancements are coming from the spin doctors next. |
Umm... how reliable is that? This would probably make a lot of people consider different FF?
|
That's just sucks....
I guess my regular YEG-YYC will not be 500 return and not 1000. talk about how NOT to treat customers... |
I'm sure it will eventually disapear for P E SE as well
Maybe one day Tango plus will be non status miles... I'm worried |
Chip chip chip chip-Chip off some more!

Imo.. AC is walking a fine line losing customers to competition. Would I consider paying a fare on AC, not if UA, CO, DL, WS.. is flying to the same destination with lower prices. AC should reintroduce the earn what you fly concept back into its' fold. |
As long as I have to pay a sometimes 50% premium to fly T+, they had better keep 100% status miles. Otherwise there is no reason in the world to fly or be loyal to AC. When it comes right down to it, it's just a seat on an airplane.
Do I care if my money stays in Canada or not-No. Do other airlines offer lie flat seats on long haul- Yes Are other airlines crews polite and competent-Yes Can I status match with Flying Blue or One world-Yes more often than not. Does Porter provide better service from YTZ to more places-Yes Can I get AA miles on WS-Yes. I think AC should not be looking at downgrading their elite programs but maintaining them at the very least. I can understand when they bring their program more in line with other star members, but to continue to water it down by a thousand cuts makes no sense. If someone is a straight orange member, and flies twice a year, I understand it from AC's point of view. But when you have to fly more than 25,000 miles a year, at a time when most travelers have no loyalty whatsoever, it makes no sense for AC to take benefits away from those that do. |
