Technically the newest member of the Elite club:)
Passed the 35k mark this morning on a flight from YEG-YYC. At YYC now waiting for my flight back to YEG, but boy , asked me two years ago about status and I would have given you a blank stare. Feels good!

Well, there have been numerous reports of the actual deadline being somewhat later than the official one, depending on various factors, and I suppose if both of those are missed, the benefits only start on March 1, 2011.

This year is my first year as elite, and I qualified around this time, maybe a week later, last year. I did not get early elite in 2009, but my benefits started in January 2010 - I just went and looked - my package was mailed Jan 6. So maybe not so long a wait if you don't qualify for early elite.
