I have tried to find this answer on this AC forum, but I must be blind and since I cannot wait to take the flight and see, I will just ask here and now.
I used some AP points to book a near-future Bus class RT domestic flight. So far, Expedia shows the cost of the flight rising but I am still the only Bus class pax on that flight.
After I complete the RT, will I get all the Bus class AP points? All I paid in cash was the taxes.

Last time I flew Bus on an operational upgrade, I gave the attentive FA a million dollar bill and told her not to spend it all in one place. Mind you, it was a Zimbabwe million dollar bill ;-) When I landed my ex was waiting for me to take me from the terminal and in gratitude I gave her a crisp 100 Trillion dollar note - from the same "Mint" which is now defunct ...

Back in 1999/2000, my wife got all the Aeroplan miles on a J reward to Europe. Gate agent did not notice this was a reward. Obviously they have since fixed the system and this does not happen anymore.

that's right, no points,
this year, i flew C class on ANA with an Aeroplan reward tix. At check in the agent did not recognize it was a reward ticket and ask for my FF card.. He put the # in but I never got the miles. I was giggling inside as it was happening, but I didn't expect to get any..and I didn't

I think the only way this can happen is if the gate agent rebooks you into a different fare class. For example if your flight is delayed or canceled and they move you to another flight. Normally they'll keep your booking or rebook you into the same fare class but occasionally they rebook you into a new fare class.
