Same day rules?

Same day rules?
Hello,
I got sick of waiting on hold last night so I gave up on trying to change a return leg on YYZ-LAX this weekend. Today I paid the price when the cheapest fare on Saturday had jumped up $500 (I'm booked on Sunday trying to come back on Saturday).
My question is if I can make the same day change on Sunday 12:01am (LA or Toronto time?) to try to at least get on the 8am flight out of LAX.
