Question Upgrade Potential LHR-YOW?

Looking at flying LHR-YOW on AC889 (A330-300) in the coming weeks.

I know that LHR-YYZ is a busy route but is the YOW route also busy? WHat are the chances of buying a Last Minute upgrade on this flight? I can imagine "government business" between Ottawa and London may eat up some of the seats but if there are empties, do AC sell-up at check-in? Any ideas on cost? Anyone been successful doing this in last few months?

Thanks

In my (limited) experience LHR-YOW and YOW-LHR are difficult routes for using upgrade certs. It may be a little easier as the summer season is starting, you may be more successful getting an upgrade when flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Personally I find LHR-YOW much easier to upgrade than LHR-YYZ. Flying on Thursday, and the flight is still R9.

That being said, I do my upgrades with certs so not sure how it works when buying them.

I believe this is the first time YOW will see the A330 on the LHR route. As such, it must be a busy route, thus the upgauge of equipment. 330 vs 767?? There are an extra 12 - 13 J/C seats to "play with".

YOW-LHR is looking very good for the next few weeks, with most days showing R9 and the ones that have limited R space, J is usually showing 9. When are you planning on going?

See here. Generally ~$700 CDN for EU-Canada or vice versa.

Ouch!
offered an up for YYZ-BGI tomorrow at $200 for a 5 hour flight. $700 for a 6 1/2 is steep.
