I have never flown AC before, but will be doing so in July in J class (on a Z fare). I'm going from IAH-YYC (need to drop off papers) and then YYC-FRA-ZRH.

I have a 5.5 hour layover in YYC and I was wondering if I would be able to do a same day confirm to go from YYC-YYZ-ZRH (all operated by AC) at 2:00pm and get into ZRH 5 hours earlier?

Here are a few details:
-My originating flight is operated by Continental (IAH-YYC). I know I will then have to go through Canadian customs and pick up my checked in bag anyway ( so that will be my opportunity to make the change should I be able to).
-The YYC-FRA is operated by AC and the FRA-ZRH is operated by LH, but it is an Air Canada ticket.


Does AC allow a same day confirm if the end of the itinerary is operated by a *A partner (Even though it's an AC ticket)? If so, would I be able to do that at YYC before rechecking my bag (subject to availability in J)?

I appreciate your feedback. I know the CO and DL rules like the back of my hand, but AC is a whole new animal for me!
