Question: How can I find out a flight number for a flight I took in Oct 2009

If the flight left mid-day (1230-1330) time frame, I believe AC only has one daily flight until the last week of October. My guess is it would have been AC925.

Best way to find this type of information is through FlightStats. You can sign up for a free account, and when logged in, can see flight information til about the beginning of '05 - you are able to look up by route.
On your day of travel, the only FLL-YUL flight was indeed AC 925.
