Morocco - dress code?
I'm visiting Marrakech, Morocco in a couple days and would very much not like to stand out as a tourist that much. I know all the standard "don't-look-like-a-tourist" behaviors of memorizing the maps, not flipping open the guidebook, learning a few phrases of the local language. For morocco - I'll be wearing jeans. Should I wear khakis? Any other tips or suggestions of what I should do/see? I'm grabbing a guidebook to read on the plane and perusing wikitravel already. I'll be arriving on Sunday and don't really have a timelimit (except to get back to Madrid by the 15th to catch my flight home) or specific plans. FYI - I'm a 23 year old college student.
Thank you in advance!

Just remember that you are in a muslim country, albeit a relatively liberal one. So unless spoken to first, don't talk to women you are not accompanying.
Oh, and unless you're of Middle-Eastern descent, you're gonna stand out
.
Just dress modestly (jeans OR khakis, not shorts or cuttoffs) and you'll be fine.
Just be sure to ignore all the iINCREDIBLY insistent "guides" that will see you coming a mile away.

Concur with previous poster. Personally, I would avoid wearing jeans - khakis are a better option. Also, I would not wear t-shirts, but rather button-down shirts (short-sleeves are ok for men). No shorts, no bare shoulders. However, in RAK you'll be absolutely fine wearing whatever - there will be tons of tourists, including many "scantily-clad" Europeans...

I would agree on the khakis and a button down shirt or a polo shirt with a collar and...
Marrakesh is full of tourists, so it wont be much of an issue.
I wore shorts because I was there in July when it was super hot.
Remember to wear long pants for visiting the Hassan mosque in Casablanca.
Although we found that the more rugged you look, the less hassle you get from the never-ending stream of touts and sellers

For females visiting a mosque, it would be advisable to have a scarf to cover the head. The alternative is to buy a chche, the scarf that many locals use as turban. You may use it as a head cover or as a shawl. Enjoy the sights and the tagines...!

Thanks for all the info. I'm in Morocco right now and it's a bit of a culture shock - never been to a country like this. fyi - I'm Male and I definitely stand out, but I tend to walk around with a huge scowl on my face and I don't get bothered (much).
