Adding Map Data for Africa

In addition to the open map data project at http://openstreetmap.com/, one may now contribute map data for many more African countries than previous available using the Google Map Maker.

Open Street Map has pretty good coverage of South Africa - certainly has all I need for my forthcoming trip to the Cape. ^ In fact, for those who didn't know, you can use Open Street Map data in your Garmin GPS, saving you forking out substantial amounts for Garmin's own City Navigator series.

The factoid about OpenStreetMap data on Garmin is very useful, thanks! A page that describes available data is here.
