Somaliland

For anyone that's been there, is Berbera worth the trip from Hargeisa? I currently have a tour booked for Laas Geel for $200 including the permits, guard, etc., but I ended up being able to change my flight to 18 hours later so would have time to include Berbera in the tour, but they're quoting me $350 total. Not sure if there's enough to see there to justify the extra $150. Any other advice for Hargeisa is welcome of course as well.

$200 sounds expensive. $350 even more expensive. However, you're tight on time, so that's the trade-off.
Berbera is worth an overnight to eat some fish, do some swimming, and check out the new port. You can buy out one of the minibuses all for yourself for about $100 to come back quickly if you want.

Yeah. I figured I could have organized better on the ground (for cheaper) if I was spending a week. But the $200 was still considerably cheaper than other companies I reached out to, one of which wanted $625 (with a low season discount!) for just a day trip to Laas Geel. Appreciate your input.
