Seeking Drivers In Morocco
My husband and I will be in Morocco next spring. We will be needing drivers only (and not a guide) for various segments of our trip. We do not need the driver once we reach any given city to stay overnight. We have one suitcase each, so a standard size vehicle will be fine.
Please let me know if you know of a drivers or a reasonably priced agency. Again, each segment involves drop off in a city, and not staying with us overnight.
Here are the segments--thank you!
Monday, April 21:
Casablanca Airport pick up, Royal Air Morac flight AT 205, arriving at 11 AM from Miami
The driver picks us up and takes us directly to El Jadida and Azemmour for sightseeing.
Then drop us off at the Casablanca Marriott Hotel for two nights.
Wednesday, April 23:
Driver picks us up at the Casablanca Marriott Hotel, and takes us to the Fes Marriott Hotel Jnan Palace for two nights.
Stop on the way at Volubilis and Meknes.
Friday April 25:
Driver picks us up at Fes and takes us to Essaouira for three nights.
Long drive, so brief stops only.
Monday, April 28:
Driver picks us up early in the morning in Essaouira and takes us to Imlil for three nights.
Three hour stop in Marrakech for sightseeing.
Thursday, May 1:
Driver picks us up in Imlil and takes us to Marrakech airport for a 6:40 PM flight to Bilbao, Spain.

Is there a specific reason you may not be willing to rent a car and drive? Contrary to what could be a popular belief, roads in Morocco are in a very good state (source: Ive been living in Morocco for the past couple of years). It may end up easier than finding a different driver for each segment (what youd be looking at based on your itinerary).
if you cannot drive or take the train (some of your segments can 100% be done traveling by train), a travel agent will indeed be the way to go, and perhaps someone here will be able to provide a serious one

I'd echo the comment about driving. Other than one experience in the centre of Marrakech I've found Morocco very straightforward to drive around, and have covered most of the country from Tangier to the Sahara. The autoroute network makes long distances very straightforward. If you have driven in France/Italy/Spain, Morocco is perfectly doable. Despite some of the more hysterical commentary it is much easier than India or <faint> Cairo.

Thank you to you both. There is now way that we would feel comfortable driving in Morocco. Plus, we would not want to be stuck with the car during or stays in various cities.
Does anyone else know of an agency that can provide drivers, not guides, at a reasonable price?

I have not checked these sites to see if they provide drivers and not guides in Morocco but I have used them in other countries.

That's an excellent idea, SanDiego1K. I will research those sites. I used a similar platform in the country of Georgia last year, and got one of the best drivers we ever had. I have also found that drivers from large agencies generally seem indifferent--I imagine that most of the money ones pays goes to the agency, and not the driver. Thanks again.
