Angola: new tourist visa waiver for 98 countries!

According to Presidential Decree No. 189/23, as of 29 September 2023, visitors to Angola from 98 countries (listed below) no longer need any sort of visa to enter for tourism for a period of less than 90 days. You just need to show:
  1. Valid passport
  2. Vaccination certificate (not clear if this is for covid-19 or Yellow Fever...)
  3. Return ticket

I imagine there will be a fair amount of confusion at Angola's airports initially, as the e-visa system remains online. But this is great news for Angolan tourism development! If you're thinking of visiting, please consider picking up a copy of my
English-language guidebook to the country from Bradt Travel Guides English-language guidebook to the country from Bradt Travel Guides
(it's the only one out there!)

Thanks for the info!

I’m not sure selling a book on FT is allowed.

Encouraging news - I've been interested to visit but really couldn't be arsed to face the bureaucracy.

This really is a breeze. Not even an immigration form to fill in - just a scan of your passport, a photo, stamp and off you.

Any idea if there is clarification around this yet?

I wasn't asked for any certificate or a return ticket. 99.9% the stated requirement is for Yellow Fever
