Back to back in JNB possible?
Hi guys,
as part of my effort to reach platinum with EK, I will be going to JNB and back with the same A380 aircraft EK763 lands at 16:30, EK764 leaves at 18:50. Should be enough time to safely go through immigration and back.
However my question is: If I manage to check in for EK764 online or in DXB before leaving, will I be able to go through transfer desk so that I can avoid the immigration hassle completely? I did that once without boarding pass and it was a bit of a pain because the transfer desk staff did not have my inbound flight that they needed to check me in the "connection" flight. So my view would be: if I get a boarding pass before my arrival in JNB I go to transfer desk. If I don't, immigration and back in.
Thoughts? What would you guys do?
Many Thanks,
Curval.

Transit passengers have to go through an immigration checkpoint in JNB as well (different from those entering SA) and passports are stamped "TRANSIT". Those lines can be a bit long as there are usually only 1-2 desks open.

I've chanced it, a couple of times, and gone through normal immigration, instead, where the transit line has backed into the immigration area. Its been over a year, for me, but it was pretty random.
