A welcoming ceremony to mark the approval of new trans-Atlantic service between BWI and Shannon and Dublin by the Irish carrier Aer Lingus will take place today at noon on the upper level of BWI's international pier.

Aer Lingus plans to start three-day-a-week nonstop service in September and expand to daily service in the summer of 2001, using the Airbus A330 jet.
