DUB Terminal 2 security today 1500-1600 beware

Beware T2 is getting as bad as T1 despite what the daa tell you . The security screens projected the time to get through was 30 mins but it actually took 1 hours 20 mins .

They had to stop passengers using the escalator to the departures floor as it was getting dangerous.

Is there any restaurant/cafe/shop currently open past security where transiting pax can grab a bite to eat? When I looked at the airport website, it seemed like most businesses past security were still closed. We will have 95 minutes between flights on a Monday morning.

The concept doesn't really work if *everyone* buys it.

I think poster may be asking why it is closed at the busiest time of day when frequent fliers tend to fly.

It's always had a limit when buying outside of frequent flier status.

Right, but it should at least be open for C pax and status no? Surprised to hear it's closed altogether.

It took me 6 mins through T2 fast track at 10am. Non fast track looked like 20-30 mins.

Conversely airside is a zoo with so many people through so early. The queue for Starbucks and Butlers was longer than security 😁 There was a mass of people at the 409 sterile curtain waiting for the pier to be opened post US departures, blocking toilets etc. the state of the toilets themselves was atrocious. EI lounge was very busy but a few seats available.

It is open for people who purchased before it was taken off sale and for status and C pax.

The problem is it doesn't open until 5 a.m. And closes Fri-Sun at 10 a.m.

As an aside. The lady directing the queue on Monday was suggesting people head for T1 Fast Track, which is open earlier apparently, but surely a boarding card for EI T2 wouldn't pass in T1? Anyone know the answer?
