Aer Lingus cancels contract with Cityjet
Aer Lingus has cancelled its contract with Cityjet which had been providing flights on Aer Lingus' behalf on a number of routes, including between Dublin and London City Airports. The move represents another blow for Cityjet as it attempts to restructure its business for the future through an examinership process.
"The impact of Covid-19 on the airline industry, including the closure of London City Airport, and the uncertainty of its duration has regrettably required Aer Lingus to terminate its wetlease agreement with CityJet and cease operations for the foreseeable future on the Dublin London City route," the airline said in a statement.

Not surprising
I'd imagine EI will leave the route to BA until things return to some degree of normality. Sending Stobart over in an ATR isn't going to get the business.
That said BACF is getting rid of its E170's could be an option

I was booked on LCY-DUB but a few weeks ago I got the email saying that my flight was changed to LHR-DUB. The only reason I originally booked the LCY flight was to get on the RJ85, so it's a shame.

Thats a shame I used the route quite a bit since it restarted from the old days and it was a great service . The new livery looked great on the aircraft too .

I've used it a few times and I much rather the BACF, lot more space and free food. The RJ has had its day.
If EI is serious about LCY its A220 or Ejet time
LCY attraction will go down quickly once the Elizabeth line gets up and running and offers similar journey times to LHR from the city as is currently the case with the DLR to LCY

LCY and LHR serve very different purposes. Going to LCY from the City after work meetings, up to 20 minutes before the flight is a big advantage. For LHR EI recommends to check in 2 hours before, and loses 45 minutes before departure.

As soon as IAG bought EI there was a codeshare on LCY flights
Its not showing currently but with the schedule is a mess its likely got lost in the changes.
All flights DUB/LHR/LCY/LGW with EI/BA are codeshared
