EI to wetlease three B757-200s and one B767

On CH-aviation
Air Contractors (AG, Dublin International (DUB)) will reportedly add three B757-200s to its fleet to operate the aircraft on behalf of Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International (DUB)) on a wet-lease basis from fall 2013. According to UK and Ireland fleet list website Jethro's, the aircraft will be coming from Finnair (AY, Helsinki Vantaa (HEL)) which will start replacing its four remaining B757-200s by new A321-200s from September.
I wonder what routes they will be deployed on.

Bearing in mind that EI has just leased out A330s to a competitor for winter use over a number of years, we'll be looking at bucket and spade routes in mid-haul or else, thinner routes in the US, while they await A350s.

The range is:
http://www.gcmap.com/map?P=&R=3900nm...X=720x360&PM=*

I fancy the Canaries, Malaga, Agadir, Egypt and so on, in attempt to erode the position of the charter operators.

If it's the US, why start in the autumn?

As an outside giggle, let's say EI is going to the mid-east and environs, almaty and friends, offering a connecting service from the US...

Rumors elsewhere suggest that they will be used for daily services SNN to JFK & BOS. Perhaps one could be used to try out a new route such as DUB-YYZ?

Never been a 757 fan myself. A330s are much nicer (and doubtless much less comparable, but anyhow..)

Yay, extra TATL capacity = cheap fares in the autumn!

I'm a fan of 757s in so far as I love to avoid them...

Does anyone know when in September this might happen? I have 2 Biz tickets from DUB to BOS and I will not be happy if the A330 gets replaced!!

It appears the 75s are destined for SNN to provide year-round thin service - DUB should be all A330s, as the routes are all reasonably thick.

The new EI C seat will be installed up front, but unfortunately, I think there's talk of recovering recycled AY seats in Y. There's to be no AVOD on board... - but that's likely (hopefully ) an indication that cost won't be recouped in the time that the airframes will be used.

When are the A321NEOs due anyway?

EI doesn't seem to have ordered any. They launch in 2015 and there are firm orders (from others) for 286 of them.

Sorry. Was getting ahead of myself - indeed, no firm orders for NEOs. Christoph Mueller did say they were looking at them, though - I think it was in the context of TATL ops form ORK.

Naturally I'd be in favour of TATL from ORK, but it's got about the same business case as SNN minus preclearance, i.e. not bloody much.

Indeed I certainy wouldnt do Y on one TATL. J would be fine.

The seats are staying the same as they come ( maybe new covers ) but J will get EI Premier branded model.

Overhead screens for Y and personal TVs for J . That will either be incorporated into the seat or a hand held device.

Dont expect any cheap fares though.

I wonder whether this is one last throw of the dice for SNN on EI. They've been slowly reducing frequencies over the last few years since the one-for-one rule went out.

EI to boost TATL 757-200 aircraft

http://www.routesonline.com/news/29/...IRthD0.twitter

Will EI replace the A330 to 757-200 aircraft out of DUB or SNN? This way the entire A330 aircraft will free it up to fly elsewhere.
