I just found some very reasonable fare to SE Asia in spring. My renewal date is 25th March (already renewed for next year) so I was looking to go somewhere after that date where I could thaw out a little!
Air China have CDG, FRA or MUC to BKK, SGN, KUL or SIN (and maybe others) for around 500 Euro in March/April on certain dates. Many of the flights are in L class (100% earning) but be careful as some (slightly more expensive ones) aren't.
The best deal I found mileage wise was MUC-BKK then SGN-FRA (example dates 29th March to 16th April) all in L class for 496 Euro earning 13823 miles which is about 3.6cpm.
Instant renewal in one trip for under 500 Euro!

I am kind of new to miles run. Booked a TK rt ticket ATH-IST-EZE, it turned out to be W class and not eligible for miles accrual at all . But the trip to Argentina was worth it!

Saw this excellent deal on fly4free.com
Thessaloniki to New York in Feb from 318 Euro -
http://www.momondo.com/flightsearch/...false&NA=false
I think the best option there is Flight with Aegean + United SKG-DUS-EWR-DUS-SKG for 333 euro with normal stopover times. Bookable with Tripsta.
Mileage earning: books into Aegean O class, so 100% , and into United K class, so 50%, so according to my calculations, it will earn 5904 miles altogether, costing 333 euro which is 5.64 Euro cents per mile. And a trip to New York.

As we are talking SAS...they run a kids fly free campaign that comes in handy if you happen to have kids. The intent is that the parent flies in the same booking class.
Kids flew C class Plus tickets on a ARN-AGP-ARN direct turn last weekend:
7380 miles for 260 SEK (28 EUR) per child
If my calculations are correct, it was around 0.4 cpm for the kids. I realize that it is not very useful for almost every FTer, but that broke our CPM record.
The family account got a nice boost. ARN-ALC-ARN next weekend.

8656 miles (x2 from SAS), $647 total
0.074 usd per mile
Not a great deal but I need about 7500 miles before March 14th, and my home base is ZRH. Anyone have any other ideas?

You can try as well with BGO, SVG, TRD, KRS with two changes. It will be at least 7600 (not sure for the distance between ZRH and CPH/OSL) if booked in Plus.

advice needed
Hi, I would be grateful if someone can provide some advice on the following. My spouse needs 772 miles and 4 A3/Olympia flights or 12772 A3 miles to retain her A3 gold status by 23 Nov 2016. We will be in Paris in March for a meeting and would like to take this opportunity to take a trip from Paris on A3 to a nearby country/city with a transit in Athens, after which we will return to Paris via Athens to connect back to the US. We are thinking of the following options. One, book a round trip ticket on A3 from Paris to a Greek city via Athens. Two, book a round trip ticket on A3 from Paris to another city in Europe via Athens. For either option, we intend to leave Paris for Athens on 12 or 13 March 2016 and stay in the destination city for a couple of nights. Also, for either option, I intend to book my own flights using my A3 miles since I have already re-qualified for gold this year.
Would her flights count as four flights? Also, for either option, what would be the most cost-effective way to do so? We are quite flexible regarding the choice of city, as long as we can minimize the cost of the ticket and accommodation. If this post belongs in another thread, please let me know. Thanks.

The midday flight out of CDG on 13th seems to be a lot cheaper than on 12th but I can't see anywhere particularly cheap at a quick glance - you're looking at around 250 Euro return wherever you go. Of course, you also need to find flights with award availability for yourself which might not be so easy!
Typical "cheaper" destinations in Greece are HER, CHQ, SKG. For an international connection (based on price), try LCA, IST or somewhere in the Balkans - OTP, SOF and BEG are usually quite cheap. The cheapest I can see for those dates is CDG-ATH-SKG, out on 13th and back on 16th - 230 Euro. Thessaloniki is a really nice city and well worth a short visit. EDIT: You could do Rhodes or Chania for 209 Euro return on those dates or Heraklion out on 13th and back on 15th. There won't be much going on in Rhodes winter but it's still nice (I spent Christmas there once). Chania is nice at any time and very manageable. That'd be my choice.
