Can't help reading it as "BDSM", but a free vaccination could be another idea. Or perhaps a CT scan. For Platinum members - upgrade to Executive rooms with access to the lounge, where you can have your tonsils removed during happy hour each evening.

If you want to search for "Mercure Bregenz City" on Facebook? I did not get a view of the roof top and the third floor as our booked Privilege room was not ready yet. Even on Facebook you will not find any roof top pictures, so I had to trust what I read. Been upgraded to a Junior Suite on second floor. Temperature in sleeping room was a problem as it is currently very hot in that part of Europe, air conditioning not too perfect yet currently and an open window would offer a liaison with certain insects.

A few pictures of the So Sofitel in La Habana that is supposed to open before end of year.

Location is good and the view is going to be really nice !
Quite frustrated not having been able to test it while here

I was supposed to be in the new Sofitel in Mexico City on Sept 15th

Goldorak was expecting an extensive review

I am quite pissed as I just received an email from the GM telling me that my reservation is cancelled because the hotel won't be opened before Oct 1st while it was supposed to open on Sept 1st.
obviously, 15 days before, the alternative hotels such as 4 seasons where I used to stay are super expensive now...

I am staying every 10 days in an Accor hotel and I am already diamond with the new ALL program and I'm super surprised that they do not provide me any alternative rather than just asking me to find a new hotel...
just asked the GM to book me 4 seasons hotel with same room level directly but I'm doubtful they would do it... and not any single alternative with Accor in Mexico City.

Any past experience with that kind of issues ?

Thanks

No personal experience, but I would expect as you that they should take care of finding you a solution in an equivalent hotel. But, legally-speaking, I don’t think they have any obligation.

So am I, I would expect them to take ownership of situation and proactively book a suitable alternative.

A quick update after my post yesterday as I just landed in Paris.

After my email to the GM, I got an almost immediate feedback from him telling me that he was going to try to find a solution with 4 Seasons directly so I would not be impacted in terms of room level. I should get a feedback from him within 48 hours.
He also told me to keep him informed about my next trip in Mexico so he could make my stay in Sofitel perfect.

Very professional so far, let's wait and see what will be the outcome will keep you guys updated and thanks for your feedbacks

Here are some updates

Just received from the GM a booking confirmation for 4 Seasons.
Unfortunately, this is not the same room level as I now have a basic room while I booked a luxury room in Sofitel (right before Suite).
Not sure if I can do anything about it as booking has already been done...

Nice to see that they have been reactive to find a solution but they could have been more generous on room level !

The Mercure Batavia, Jakarta has recently opened up.

I drove past last week.
This property brings back many old memories. I stayed here as a teen when I worked for the family business when it was a The Omni Batavia. It has a gorgeous stained glass window spanning several floors. During the riots that stained glass was quite damaged.
The hotel used to house the largest illegal casino in Jakarta too.
There was a nightclub next door that was one of the hottest and darkest places during its time.

Memories..

The old Kota area is slowly being redeveloped. Still so much history around there.
