Review Mercure Munich city center (16 Photos)

Mercure Muenchen City Center

A very good short stay (1 night) in this Mercure hotel. This is the kind of Mercure I like when it has a fresh and modern look, quiet and comfortable rooms of decent size and, of course, when they treat Platinum properly !

Location

It is located at 100m from the main central train station, very close to the Sofitel and 15 min walking from the old town/main touristic attractions of Mnich. So it is very convenient if you arrive by train or from the airport using the train service.

Check In

I checked in around 1pm and my room was ready. I was informed about room upgrade and drink voucher was given. Content of the minibar is free but selection is limited to water, beer and Coke. Certainly better than nothing. The hotel lobby has a fresh and modern look as I said above and it gives immediately a good impression.

Room

Room was relatively spacious as you can see, facing an inner courtyard. It was at the far end of the corridor, which has always my preference to avoid any noise. Plenty of power ports available on both sides of the comfortable bed.

Nice bathroom with walk-in shower.

There was a welcome note along with the welcome gift which was a bottle of ??? I have no idea what it was (the label was all in German). I dont think it was beer, but as I dont like beer, I left it as I didnt want to waste something I dont like. May be our German friends here on this forum will help me to know what it was ;)

Dining

Drink voucher is redeemable for soft drinks, beer, wine. Kudos to the bar tender who recommended a truly excellent German Sauvignon blanc. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Food was very good. Le Club members have 10% discount on F&B when charged to the room.

This below was my apetizer a succulent selection of coppa, Black Forest ham and tte de moine cheese :)

Giesinger Munique is indeed a beer (apparently a "Heller Bock" style beer).

Nice review ^

Thank you Goldorak!

Will have missed you by about two weeks. I'll be at the Sofitel soon.
