Hello everyone,
The ibis budget brand does not participate in the Le Club AccorHotels programme.
A hotel is considered as “Participating” if the Members can:
- Gain points
- Use Rewards points
- Receive the recognition of their status at the hotel when they make an eligible stay (welcome drinks and the other benefits granted per status)
- Enjoy their Member advantages
If the hotel does not meet these criteria, it is not a participating hotel.
You can find a list of participating hotels and brands here: http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/leclub...m/brands.shtml
On the site, “Member card accepted” refers to the acceptance of membership and loyalty cards as well as the ability to benefit from the Members Rate.
Ibis budget Le Havre Centre participates in the Members Rate offer and accepts the ibis Business card, but it does not accept the Le Club AccorHotels card.
This display may vary from one ibis Budget to another as only some ibis Budget hotels participate in the Members Rate offer (participation differs from one country to another).
The list of the hotel proposing the Members Rate is regularly updated and available here :http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/produc...ing-hotels.pdf
All best,
Amy

When a description requires an explanation to be understood, which in itself is also confusing, then all has been said and no further comments are required !

Let me get my head around this.....
In the attached table, there are 3 types of hotels in the programme:
Participating, Partner and Not Accepted
Then when you look at the descriptions in the hotel lists, you see 2 different classifications: one in Gold above the hotel name and one in the top right on a dark blue background with the Accor logo.
The gold ones say: Our Hotels Accorhotels Or Selected by Accorhotels
The ones on the top right say: Member Card Accepted or Member Card Not Accepted.
Based on the discussion above:
"Participating" = Earn points, use points, status level benefits, accumulation of nights/points towards re-qualification, members' rates etc..
These are Our hotels Accorhotels and Member Card Accepted BUT
Some hotels, like the Ibis Budget above, although it is Our Hotels Accorhotels and Member Card Accepted, it is not "Participating". The benefits are:
"Member card accepted" = Members' rates only
Then, all the non-participating are easier to find because they are all Our hotels Accorhotels but you can see Member Card Not Accepted.
"Member card not accepted" = No benefits
Finally, we have the Selected by Accor hotels, which are independent partner hotels. the benefits in these hotels are:
"Independent Partner Hotels" = earn points, nights/points towards re-qualification (can someone confirm this?!)
So something is wrong with the logic as:
1. Some hotels are Accor hotels but don't participate at all.
2. Some hotels are Accor hotels but only give you members' rates and otherwise don't participate.
3. Some hotels are Accor hotels but only allow you to use Ibis card and not the Accor card (??) and may/may not give members' rates?
4. Other hotels hotels participate fully in the programme.
5. All non-Accor hotels participate by allowing you to earn points and accumulate nights/points towards re-qualification (I think).
Forgetting about the Our hotel Accorhotels / Selected by Accor bit, let's look at how many different categories of hotels we have in terms of benefits.
There are at least 5. So, the best way to categorise is to change "Member Card Accepted" to 2 categories, one to show full participation and one to show partial participation so that there is no misunderstanding when booking (Ibis Budget in this case). Partner hotels come into the "Partial Participant" category but have better benefits than other hotels that just give the members' rate. So, something like:
Member Card Fully Accepted
Member Card Partially Accepted
Member Card Not Accepted
As there are different things that different hotels participate in, I think we should be able to put our mouse over or click and see exactly what "Member Card Partially Accepted" means in a particular hotel with the following criteria:
Status level benefits X (Only applies to 'Member card fully accepted but good to show to make it clear)
Earn points (Tick or Cross based on that hotel)
Use Points (Tick or Cross based on that hotel)
Status re-qualification [Nights/Points] (Tick or Cross based on that hotel)
*No booking with points, Rewards Vouchers, Accor Places, Bonus Points Promotions.
I've attached some screenshots. It seems the one with the icons is out of date as I can't click on any of the pictograms to see the benefits for each type of hotel and they no longer say 'Participating' - it's now 'Member Card Accepted' I think.

This program seems flawed due to being so complicated... yet corporate execs insist on explanations and waste customer's time.
Example: Ibis Budget Hotels in Rio, Brazil
* All Ibis Budget, Rio claim that "Members card not accepted";
* None offer the 10% discount for being an Accor member or a John Doe
* Only some Ibis Budget, Rio offer the discount for Ibis Card members on their best flexible rate, per Ibis Card T&C, which is wrong.
Check Ibis Business card - Scam for additional info on the issues, for those who have paid for this card.
