I had a repeat stay at the Pullman last month for a week, this time in one of the pool villas, as part of a longer stay in Thailand. Overall another very pleasant stay. It is good to see that the property remains very well maintained and service quality remains high. Having signed up in advance for Accor Plus made a lot of sense as this is one of the few hotels where you'll end up eating at the property rather then venturing out.

As I have reviewed the hotel and one of the villas before, here are just some selected images from the stay:

Welcome drink

They knew I like gin

Special breakfast treats for good customers

Food throughout was good though I think the Italian restaurant is somewhat overrated. Best to stick to the Thai food which was yummy.

Pool view

Happy hour

Villa

Welcome amenity

Departure amenity (nice touch)

Is the beach cleaner now ? When I stayed there years ago, it was a dump place. Not the hotel fault of course as this is a public beach.

The beach was spotless when I was there. The hotel regularly participates in clean up with the local community.

Goldorak is a legend, and this is one of the most incredible APAC review threads ever.

Did people find the Dhatri spa worth it, or do people go to the massage places right outside the hotel (at 1/5 the price)?

Remember if you are booking the Ocean room to send them an email ahead strongly requesting for Block 3.
If you booked an Ocean room and e-mailed them requesting Block 3, what might upgrade possibilities be? Obviously this includes the Ocean Grand you describe, but I'm wondering as they seem to be slow going to summer, and there's a big Accor sale ongoing.

The spa is ok but overpriced. If you want a real Thai massage at a decent price try any of the local places around.

Less garbage, but lots of vegetation washed up on the shore. Not dirty, but not pristine clear water. Waves are very strong in May (rainy season) and the slope is very gentle so it's very hard to just relax in the water. More surfers than bathers.

The beach is the property's big weakness. The property is built on rocks above the end of the beach, so there is a staircase from the side of the pool leading down to an underwhelming and dirty stretch of the beach. This is not one of those beachfront properties where you can run into the water after exiting your room.

True, but pretty amazing views from the pool!

Yeah, thing is, for someone who actually lives in an island in Southeast Asia, you can get all that elsewhere except for an actual beach.

Finishing maybe my 7th stay at this resort and it still doesnt disappoint. The minute I arrived (coming from Pullman Phuket Karon Beach) I was immediately relaxed and regretting that we didnt stay here almost our whole time in Phuket. Its probably my favourite Accor resort property Ive ever stayed in.

the service is immaculate as ever - Brett and Albert and their team continue to go above and beyond. Ive always been greeted here on first name basis - the welcome by the GM and Assistant GM has always been remarkable and they make their way through the resort, restaurants and pools to greet people and offer any assistance needed.

No exec lounge but Ive had a welcome amenity each night (forgot to take photos) but the first night was a G&T and Cosmopolitan cocktails (on a tray with garnishes etc) and a Non-Alcoholic ginger beer as well as a plate of macaroons and then more chocolates and macaroons the second night.

breakfast each morning includes a special tray of treats and Chandon Sparkling wine. Ive been offered a couple of glasses each day.

I dont have much to add from what else has been shared already except that they have turned the pool up near the gym into a Mexican/Tequila themed adults only space. Its fantastic. This space lacked something previously and the way they have upgraded it is sensational. See photos.

the beach is swimmable at the moment and is fairly clean. This time of year its usually ok - its in the wet season (July ish) where the beach isnt safe to swim in and when its pretty dirty.

and there are a few more upgraded restaurants down the street that have opened now.

the massage places down the beach are ok - I reckon it one of them did a slight upgrade they would kill it with traffic from the Wyndham and Pullman.

if you come to Phuket, you have to give it a try.

We spent our honeymoon trip in Thailand 10 years ago, we stayed at the Mgallery in Chiang Mai and this Pullman in Phuket, the latter is definitely my favourite Accor hotel in Asia

We will be returning next year and will ask for block 3

The Avista Grande is a nice hotel. I enjoyed staying there. The Pullman Karon is an ex-Hilton, which is quite dated unless they recently started a renovation.

I stayed at both Naithon and Karon Pullmans in April. They are totally different. Karon was ok, but its not Naithon by any measure. It does have an exec lounge and is a huge resort and closer to the action than Naithon and it will be cheaper.

I probably found it better than the Panwa Pullman.

Overall, the Karon Pullman is ok, and better than staying in Patong. Ask for a renovated room.

Pullman Naithon is one of my favorite properties but this time prices are extremely high during my dates in April, or maybe I should wait to book it, I believe there is a group on hold for these dates

I will probably book the Avista Grande, hoping for Pullman Naithon to offer better rates soon
