Finally made it !

Well after being a member of Accor for 6 yrs in Australia i have finally made it to the ranks of PLATINUM.If only i had known about this forum and another one a while ago it could have saved me an awful lot of money to do it . Had in the region of 53 nights (others to make 60 were coming any ways to reach 60 required at Easter period, but this final promotional offer for the first 2 nights gave me the 4,000 pts i required to get there earlier^ Thanks to those whose advise have put me on the road ^Now to discover Platinum

No it's the Mercure King George Square fortunately Joined onto Pullman with a Club Lounge and from what i've read on here and elsewhere Platinum Status is acknowledged even when staying there ......(hopefully).Will report back later Special deals sometimes have this as low as $85 which is still as cheap than a taxi home without the benefits ^

No worries, I was talking more in general about some staff in some properties - never been to this particular Hotel

Welcome to Platinum. I just hope you are staying at the Pullman King George Square - they know how to treat Plats, the Sofiel doesn't.

Yep really good place and great service to boot every time i have stayed there. Even excelled really as upon check in we were informed breakfast would be continental with 2 hot options. Don't know which school they went to but i didn't class bacon, sausage, scramble eggs,(informed both fried eggs and omelettes ready available if required ) beans, and mushrooms as 2 HOT OPTIONS !! One can only hope if i win the lottery reception are paying my 2 million out ^ Can't see the point in going to Sofitel where there is no lounge personally and this is available cheap as chips at times
