From my experience, it is the opposite - it helps the hotel to prepare the drinking vouchers etc. and pre-assign an upgraded room.

But in other hotels ("exceptions to Le Club program" hotels !), I don't check online, because when I arrive at the hotel, my key is ready but they didn't upgrade me and every time it seems so difficult (and so long) for the receptionist to find a new room and make a new key |
Could we merge this thread with the existing one discussing the same subject ?

I didn't received the e-mail inviting me for an on-line check-in for my last two stays (Thus I received this mail from the same hotel for a stay some weeks ago). As anyone experienced the same ?

Some hotels did not implement "Welcome" yet. Accor only boasts implementations at around 1000 hotels I believe.

I've used this a couple of times at an Ibis and really don't see the benefit for customers. I still have to go to the front desk, sign the paperwork and get my credit card pre-authorised before I get my key.
Most of that should be handled by the online check in and I should be able to get my room key perhaps by quickly scanning my credit card to prove it's me. Better yet, turn the phone into a key as other hotels have. |

I like the SMS telling you the room is ready early and that the invoice is emailed on checkout, however I am not too keen on the email beeping away on my phone at 3:15am with a copy of the folio for my perusal. Maybe 6am would be better or even an opt out for that one. |
i wanted to check if the hotels i would be staying at had this new feature. thought this list that i found from accor might be useful to others.

Easy solution, switch your phone to silent ;)
Some of us are also on call, whilst I can turn my personal one off through the night (Which is the one most of the junk goes to), I cannot turn off the work one (I work for a casino chain and they trade mainly during the night unfortunately - My normal working hours are daytime, but we have to take it in turns to be on call) and they insist that all accommodation, travel etc is booked through the company email for audit and control purposes. I don't object to being called at £60 a pop at 3am though. |

Seriously though, I understand what you mean and normally reading something like that I would think/say the same but work has got me with that one, I'll need to look into how I filter out the emails from them. I do think LCAH letting you opt-out of receiving the emails and allowing you to go to the website and download the folio after checkout would be a good idea though. Out of curiosity does anyone actually use (or find it useful) the copy of the folio that is sent for perusal? I've managed for years without it personally and don't really see the point in it myself. |
