Priority Check-in, Personalised service and private check-in

Being a Platinum member with Accor for some time, I've never experienced the mentioned Priority/ private Check-in benefit, this also happens even if I booked a suite that includes the so called Priority/ private Check-in. Everytime I check-in, I would head to the front desk, but isn't Priority/ private Check-in be at the Executive lounge? But then, how would you get up there without a key card? Usually there is also a "priority counter" at the front desk which on most occasions is unmanned.

Is there some method to initiate this process or everyone simply gets in line at the front desk despite having this benefit?

You've got to still go to the check in desk as normal and a staff will escort you up to the lounge for check in.

In Asia I normally ask the concierge to show me up to the executive lounge when I arrive.. Never been an issue.
I make it a point not to check in at the reception for the only reason that the ground floor reception staff may be unaware of the benefits.

In Europe and the US the "priority" desk (where it exists) makes zero difference, they are rarely staffed. As mentioned, in Asia the lounge check in can be very pleasant.

Hmm.. I'll probably try it the next time. Yeah, I usually get interesting and weird comments towards loyalty entitled benefits from the reception. (ie. Hotel does not participate in Loyalty Program, ______ benefit only applies to Sofitel, etc..)

As much as I would like to argue with the staff telling me such nonsense, I usually give up and not waste my time arguing over a welcome drink or newspaper.

In the exec lounge you are at least sitting down when you need to argue
Also if in the lounge they don't know what the benefits are, they have a serious problem.

I have on some occasions had an issue during exec lounge check in and would then ask for the FOM/superior, move myself to the couches in the lounge and have a coffee while waiting.. All condusive to a relaxing environment
