Canada does have an equivalent
http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/charter/#libertes which means about as much as the 1st Amemdment.
"freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression" is OK as long as it doesn't include (for example) denying the Holocaust, or impinges on good old National Security (to our CATSA viewers - Hi, guys !).
