None of you know why this guy has multiple ID's, nor why he decided to run when they found out he was trying to pass as somene else.

A simple case of a fake ID to buy some beer such as McLovin (from the movie Superbad)? Maybe. Someone trying to hide their identity for more significant reasons? also a possibility.

I would at least wait for the follow-up story of who this moron is before making all the normal assumptions this forum is full of.
Criminals and/or those with multiple/fake IDs walk down the street in the USA every day. But we've made a cultural choice that police don't set up dragnets on the sidewalk to catch them. Would we be "safer" if they were caught? Maybe. But the lost liberty is too much.

If the guy turns out to be Bin Laden's crony, my response would be that US intelligence and law-enforcement should have known about him and law-enforcement should have executed a specific, targeted arrest warrant, based on probable cause, to bring him in. Not waited for him to show up at the airport and fumble an interview about his ID.

Turning domestic transportation points into law-enforcement dragnets is a dangerous precedent.
