FlyerTalk is a good place to meet travel companions. One girlfriend I travel with posted on FT several years back that she was doing a mileage run and would someone like to join her. I bit and we've traveled together many times since.

If you go to some DOs (look on the Community forum) you're bound to meet some like-minded potential travel companions.
