How aggressive it was depends on the "lady's" behaviour up to that point. There is some issue of timeliness in the FA gaining control over flaming material if the aircraft is at cruising altitude.
On a recent AA transatlantic flight a FA snatched and dumped my tray while I was still eating the meal on it (loaded fork in midair), so perhaps there is some type of training on this.
