Chi1K .. my memory is rather fuzzy, but I do recall the 5000 STATUS MILES bonus was INTENDED for those who suffered some glitch at the hands of UA? i.e. it was strictly TARGETED.

Anyway, it was publicised here on FT, and some got it (including 1Ps IIRC and maybe even 2Ps for 2500 miles) and some did not, for asking nicely. There was seemingly no pattern in how they awarded it in the end. It was quite a mess. Get a nice agent and you got it (we did!) and get a strict one and NIET.
