Hopefully they'll accept my bag (I've got a 70cm roller) - don't really want to run to Int to use their services (just inconvenient). There's also the option to run to the city and leave my bag with my hotel.............hmmmm............. (there is a 2hr+ gap between QF2702 and QF2711)
Use the luggage storage service. There is no way I would try to go to the city just for a bag drop at that time. Believe me and everyone who has struggled through the AKL traffic it has little chance of working. Oh take the Airbus to the city it is cheaper and the return can be used up to a year later.
Fog is very unseasonal for CHC & WLG at this time of year. AKL & ZQN would be more likely for weather disruptions.
Remember to get something to eat in the SYD QP as the LA flight only provides a sandwich and some dried fruit.
