As a general statement about Marriott, I definitely disagree with this. However, with respect to how they handle the Gift Cards, I totally agree with you.

Sorry, I misread your post. Thought you said Marriott doesn't care about its customers. so I guess I should modify my response to say that I disagree that Marriott shows care for their customers with regards to the way they handle the Gift Cards. Otherwise, in general their treatment of guests is excellent.
