SkyBus had good ancillary sales per customer - it might have been as high as $10. They sold everything from the standard food fare to chocolates and jewery and even timeshares onboard!
This is definitely a good model for low cost carriers, I would expect Spirit (who I believe is profitable) to try and match that part of the model.
