Combining oneworld fares: Kebosabi asked on 22 April if it is possible to combine oneworld fares – for instance a round-the-world fare with a single continent Visit pass. The anwer is yes – provided you fuflil the requirements of the fares. So, for a Visit pass, you must arrive from a different continent first before beginning your Visit pass journey.
Viajero: Sorry to hear of the problems you have encountered booking oneworld fares. They should be bookable through any oneworld airline’s sales outlets, no matter which oneworld carriers are included in whatever order on the itinerary. If you can provide specifics – which sales outlet and when – we will follow this up.
Mmcmah: I look forward to the beers! Sorry to hear of the problems you had in getting your award flight on Cathay Pacific. We will follow up the points you make with them and AA.
Davidthomson: If you are traveling LHR-LAX and then LAX-YYZ, then that is not a wholly North American itinerary, so the AA exception you highlight should not apply. I note you are flying LHR-LAX economy, so lounge access at LAX would only apply if you have a oneworld Emerald of Sapphire tier frequent flyer card.
aaupgrade: Lucky friend! Technically, lounge access is for the outbound portion of a flight, so as your friend is flying outbound from NRT in Economy he/she should not expect to gain access to the lounge. But as he/she will have flown inbound First Class, the folks on duty may be flexible depending on how busy the place is on the day etc.
