Pet parties for the millennium

NORWALK, Conn. — Pets whose owners leave them out of grand tour plans for the millennium can party with their own kind at special resorts across the country. Best Friends Pet Resorts say they are planning a New Year's Eve howl with party treats, catnip and gifts, including a ''I Howled in the Millennium at Best Friends'' scarf and back pack. The party will cost $25 for dogs or cats who are boarding for less than a week, but the bash is free for those staying a week or more, Best Friends announced from its headquarters here.
