Well. on the other hand you can enjoy most Italian culinary regions without ever having to leave Bockenheim.

My experience in Germany is that the local restaurants and "Kneipen" with food really only serve regional favourites. You might get a few Bavarian and Swabian speciality places but are more likely to run into a Thai or even Austrian restaurant.
