Apparently this is the only nasty I have on my drives or in memory.

Does anyone know what vdogda7j.exe is? The Google doesn't provide a hit.

Can I safely just delete this exe file or is it what is holding the free world together?

It's a trojan. Here's an explanation from McAfee: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_144179.htm

My personal suggestion is to buy some anti-virus software that will deal with this and other issues so you don't have to worry.
