Had a similar instance in LIH condo... fancy place and all... and apparently "environmentally conscious"... It was too much... we tried various things like putting a bag over it, but never figured out a way to "trick" the sensor. Lots of fun to wake up sweaty, or return from the beach to an oven. (The warmed car is enough)... They spend tons on energy for their subzero fridge, fancy stove, dishwasher, etc... and then no AC when its needed the most.

So any tips on bypassing the system (without removing it ) would be appreciated.

Never been to Europe yet, (Or Asia for that matter) so I'll keep in mind the "card trick".
