If you manage the get an ex-Peru ticket sold and issued in Canada this warning possibly does not apply, but I'd still be very concerned about it, right up to departure time. Consider, for example, that ex-Peru tickets purchased on aa.com are subject to this tax, even though they are sold in the US.
Thankf for posting, even if it is really bad news!! Does anyone know if you can apply to receive a government 19%VAT rebate? I know if I am booking a hotel/pkg in Chile (I know different then Peru) I am not subjected to the 19%VAT as long as I pay the bill in equivalent USD and show proof I do not live in Chile.
