Even if it wasn't 'official' policy before, simple common sense says that removal of the rings wasn't necessary. Show them to a female screener, which I believe she offered to do, is all. Unless the screener thinks that something else

No, I think this woman was bullied into an
unreasonable search and didn't know enough to refuse. Discipline those involved (yeah, as if) and case closed. Until the next one.
