I'm doing a search for a coupon where I can only fly on NW metal and instead of routing me through DTW or MEM, even though NW has multiple daily flights from MSY through those hubs, they put me on a CO to HOUSTON which is 180 degrees in the wrong direction simply so that the coupon won't apply. All to save them 6,000 miles per person.

I would not give this coupon to someone else unless, as part of the gift, I was willing to search for the tickets for them. Otherwise, I'm not giving them anything at all, because most people just don't have the time to sort out "stuff" like this. WP615 as it exists is not creating goodwill, and while I'm willing to tolerate a lot of guff in search of a bargain, when I'm giving somebody a gift, I don't want to also be giving them a job.
