Y on the 737's really, really *sucked* big-time, but hopefully this is better...
I'm a bit scared of service levels as well, as the SQ flights are sold out right now, while the 9w seats are *widely* available...
We almost went with SQ, as 9w was really messing up big-time, but then went through with the 9w bookings...
I just returned on 2 segments on 9w's A332's in Y, and have this to report:
1. Aircraft very new, therefore very nice environment to fly in.
2. Seats very comfortable, probably similar to SQ's 77w Y seats.
3. FA's have no concept of customer service, as they are so stunned (or too haughty) by being allowed to fly abroad.
4. Meals really suck, as compared to SQ - food is *worse* than domestic 9w!
Anyway, anything further is a subject for a trip report - will do that later, but to address the OP's request for the best seats on the A332 - this would be Row 25 (I think, as I wasn't in them), where the EE is located.
There, you would get excellent legroom on both the port and starboard sides of the row, with the most legroom in Y.
Config in Y is 2 -4 - 2, with the rear reducing to 3 in the center section.
Edited to Add: Oh yes, while these sectors I flew to SIN were wide-open, SQ was filling their 777's....they had a *lower* web price than 9w's, but I had to use some of my 9w miles before they expired...
Night flight out had a good C load, but the return was *very* light (maybe 3 C pax?)
I gather biz pax are using the 9w lie-flat seats as a temporary measure to fly one-way on 9w, back on SQ, until SQ gets their 77w's rotating into BOM! (and/or other Indian cities)
