The hotel had Junior Suites for sale, that does not mean that the Junior Suites are designated as SELECT STANDARD suites at that property. Can you confirm that Junior Suites are designated as Select Standard Suites are that property?????
Select standard suites are what Platinum members are entitled AND Best rooms are identified by each property and may not include upgraded Towers level accommodations unless Towers level accommodations are booked originally.
That alone, is why I asked question number 2 and 3.
I feel that maybe on Flyertalk, we should have a disclosure of which suites hotels allocate then as junior suites as i have heard stories of customers being denied suites as they are being witheld by the hotels and increasingly spg is NOT taking the side of protecting the interests of its members but rather its own.
One hotel downunder has an established policy of which suites are set aside as plat upgrade but unless you know it, you are probably going to be fooled by the clerk. This hotel has on numerous occasions denied preferred view rooms to plat members for which it charges more or suites when they are indeed being sold which = being available.
