This is dead wrong. I was told on the phone by Marriott rewards that the window was rolling.
This is supported by the fact that I made Platinum on 2/11/08. If it was strictly calendar year-based, that would be impossible since there was not enough time for me to spend 75 nights in a Marriott in 2008 as of 2/11.
