On a good morning I can park in lot B, take the shuttle, get through security at T6 and be at the gate in under 15 minutes with only carry on...I don't think I've ever waited longer than 10 minutes going through CI. Pretty effecient if you ask me.

Disgusted...I don't see what there is to be disgusted about. Maybe I need to slow down and take my time to look around next time.
Have to agree, T6 check-in at LAX is actually pretty good (quicker than SFO) IMHO. Who cares if the hall is pretty sparse? I go the there to check-in and that's it. And as for security, you get the fast-track to the same lines as everyone else flying UA. So what's the beef?

I actually quite like LAX. It's a bit quirky, to be sure, but a whole heap better than most UA terminals around the country.
