Lounge Access on Code Share
I was checking in last week on a LX flight operated by LY out of TLV.
I am AC Elite.
Normally at TLV when checking in with LX or LH directly, passengers are given a voucher for access to a lounge shared by Diners and other airlines.
Since it's operated by LY, I was checking in with them. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to go to the LY lounge or the shared lounge, so I asked them. The staff asked me if I had status with LY, which I don't. They said that without LY status, I was not entitled to anything from them and they wouldn't give me access to the LY lounge and knew nothing about any vouchers for the other lounge.
Is this normal? I bought a ticket from LX. Why should the fact that LY is the carrier matter?
