"Houston is Emirate's second U.S. gateway, offering business and leisure travellers the fastest link between the UAE and Texas with a 17 hour flight from Dubai to Houston and a return of approximately 15 hours. The route follows on the success of Emirates' first destination in the United States, New York, which has been operating since 2004 and has since grown to become a three-flights-a-day service. "
Article also notes how big the cargo business is and mentions the USB port options on flight.

This reference is to the current 3x daily flights (2x nonstop, 1x via HAM). From the end of March, JFK will be downgraded to 2x daily nonstops. Capacity will be upgraded effective 1 October when EK201/202 cuts over to the A380. A 3rd daily non-stop flight has not been annonced yet.
